Quests are resource conversions, not free rewards

Trading routes introduce requests that ask for resources and return quest progress, materials or other benefits. Because requests go on cooldown, it is tempting to click all of them whenever they are available.

That is efficient only when the input is truly surplus.

Before accepting a request, check whether the same material is needed for:

  • the next building;
  • a bookmarked upgrade;
  • a crafting chain;
  • a worker-tier unlock;
  • storage expansion.

If yes, the quest can delay progression even when its reward looks good.

Guilds expand the request network

Early full-release gameplay shows Guild unlocks opening additional request options. Think of Guilds as another set of conversion routes. Their value rises when they let you turn a capped/easy resource into something currently scarce.

Do not unlock every Guild purely for completion if the entry cost consumes your active bottleneck.

Use bookmarks before a spending session

Press F on an expensive requirement to bookmark it. Later, prioritized bookmarks can stop automatic resource consumption from making the bookmarked target unaffordable.

This is one of the cleanest ways to avoid “I was 95% there and a quest ate the material” moments.

Cooldowns favor planning

If a request is definitely useful, run it earlier so the cooldown starts earlier. If the reward is irrelevant, a fast cooldown is not a reason to spend.

A good quest loop is:

  1. bookmark the next major purchase;
  2. identify resources safely above that reserve;
  3. run the best conversions;
  4. return to production while cooldowns tick;
  5. re-evaluate when the next unlock changes your bottleneck.

Danger 15 and 20 Combat Quests do not auto-start

v1.0.2 disabled auto-start for Combat Quests at Danger Levels 15 and 20 because these encounters are unusual and a long completion could create softlock-like trouble.

If you expect every combat quest to chain automatically and these do not, that is intentional behavior from the hotfix, not necessarily a broken automation setting.

Gold Ore rewards changed in v1.0.6

The current gold rebalance increased Gold Ore rewards from earlier Combat Quests and added Gold Ore to Rescue The Baker and Spider Pests.

That makes those quests more relevant to midgame progression than they were in launch-day recordings.
